Head of Regional Development Master Program, Prof. Dr. Rini Rachmawati, S.Si., M.T., attended the 35th International Geographical Congress (IGC) 2024 held from August 24-30, 2024, in Dublin, Ireland. During the event, Prof. Rini had the opportunity to present on “Navigating Diversity: Smart City Initiatives in Indonesia” at the Commission of Governance: Smart City, Neighbourhood Change, and Spatial Inequality, as well as participate in sessions at the Urban Commission and the Information, Innovation, and Technology Commission.

On Wednesday, August 21, 2024, the Community Service Program Based on Appropriate Technology Application Universitas Gadjah Mada in 2024, was conducted with the theme “Strengthening MSMEs through Digital Branding, Digital Marketing, and Community Digital Literacy to Support Excursionist and MICE (Meeting-Incentive-Convention-Exhibition) Tourism Patterns in Sidoarum Village.” This event was organized by the Center for Southeast Asian Social Studies (CESASS) UGM, supported by the Directorate of Community Service UGM, Faculty of Geography UGM, and Sidoarum Village. Serving as the speaker and team leader was Prof. Dr. Rini Rachmawati, S.Si., M.T. (Head of Regional Development Master Program). The next speaker was Dr. Wing Wahyu Winarno, along with training assistant Kuindra Iriyanta. The community service activity also involved students from the Regional Development Studies, Faculty of Geography UGM, namely Anindya Puteri Eka Susilowati and Atalla Rahadewi Neta.
On Tuesday, August 13, 2024, the final report presentation for the 2024 Community Satisfaction Survey on Infrastructure Services in Yogyakarta City was held. This activity was a collaboration between the Public Works, Housing, and Settlement Area Service of Yogyakarta City and the Center for Southeast Asian Social Studies (CESASS) of Universitas Gadjah Mada. The team was coordinated by Prof. Dr. Rini Rachmawati, S.Si., M.T., along with assistants Azis Musthofa, M.Sc. and Anindya Puteri Eka Susilowati, S.Si. The project also involved several students from the Regional Development Master Program as surveyors, including Berlita Devika, Anita Putri Anggraini, Tria Sofie, Prananta Radika, Dina Rahayu, Vera Azizah Adryawning, Calya Sahwahita, Kunastya Mulya Pinta Ramadhan, Agus Salafudin, Pinta Rachmadani, Dhia Fauzia Rahman, Deon Anggada Pratama, and Tri Susanto.
